Background:

Timed to coincide with St Patrick’s Day, Pot Noodle launched an affectionate pastiche of what was reportedly the most expensive ad ever made – Guinness’ ‘Tipping Point’.

‘Tipping Pot’ is a 75-second film that re-locates and recreates the action from the Guinness original. Set on two housing estates in North London, Tipping Pot uses things found in and around the estates to recreate the £10m domino extravaganza on a somewhat smaller budget. Cigarette packets, mobile phones, abandoned fridge-freezers, car wheels, motor scooters, wardrobes, a sofa and a blow-up doll all feature in this hilarious pastiche with a twist in the tale.

Results:

The film smashed targets with 50,000+ YouTube views on the first day. Within a week it had exceeded the original Guinness film with 200,000 views and was in the top 40 most viewed films globally. It has gone on to receive accolades in the national and international media, including Sky News, The Telegraph, The Times, The Independent, CBTV and Sydney’s The Age. And to date, the film has received 2million views, with over 300,000 on YouTube.
